Software Tips & Tricks Inserting a Graphic into an Address Label in Word 2000 and Word XP(2002)
By Laura Noble
Word makes creating a full sheet labels (all the same) relatively easy, but what if you also want to add a graphic to the address label?
- Select Tools, Envelopes and Labels
In Word XP: Tools, Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels
- Click on Labels Tab and click Options button and select Label size, click OK
- Click New Document button
- Word will create a new document with a Label template. If gridlines of label are not displayed, click the Table menu and click Show Gridlines
- In the first label fill in address information
- In the same label add graphic (Insert, Picture, From File)
- Graphic may not align with text (see sample above). To align with text: select the graphic and click the Text Wrapping icon on the Picture toolbar and select Square. Resize and move graphic to desired position on label.
- Verify insertion point is in cell with address and graphic and then select entire cell: Table, Select, Cell
- Select Tools, Envelopes and Labels
In Word XP: Tools, Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels - Click New Document button
- A full page of the same labels will appear in a new document with graphic and address.
